Meet our Trustees
Simon Williams
Chair of Trustees
Simon is an experienced Chief Executive and Executive Director with a variety of a leadership experience working on and with boards in both the charity and private sector with over 30 years experience working with trustees, boards and leadership teams in developing strategy and building the organisational capabilities to improve quality, performance, colleague experience and outcomes for beneficiaries.
Simon’s work experience includes divisional leadership roles in a FTSE 250 company, board director of a national retailing brand, and executive leadership roles in the charity sector during which time Simon was CEO of a large disability charity. Simon’s career experience has been supplemented by a range of voluntary experience including: being a governor and chair of the Finance Committee of a Wiltshire primary school; Trustee and Chair of the Board of Wiltshire Sight (a local charity supporting children and adults living with sight loss); and Chair of the board for a Hampshire based housing association. Simon’s career experience has been supplemented through professional studies and he is a Chartered Director, Fellow of the Institute of Directors, and Associate Member of the CIPD.
Paula Barnes
Trustee
Paula is a senior qualified solicitor with over 25 years’ experience in clinical negligence. In more recent years she has acquired expertise in community care, education and public law matters. She has been extensively involved in the conduct of clinical negligence claims at all levels to include cerebral palsy claims in the High Court and Court of Appeal. She has also conducted many community care claims challenging local authorities and healthcare providers in relation to the failure to provide services and support to the most vulnerable in our society.
Paula is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) as well as a Law Society Clinical Negligence panel member and examiner. Paula was previously the Chairperson of Rainbow Centre in Fareham and is currently a Trustee and Secretary at DVLCC, a Children’s charity.
Sara Bradbury
Trustee
Sara is Director of Operations for Enham Trust, a Disability Charity supporting disabled people to live, work and enjoy life and is a Member of the Institute of Employability Professionals (MIEP).
Sara has over 20 years’ experience of working in the Third, Further Education and Welfare to Work sectors, in both private and charitable organisations. Throughout her career, Sara has managed large Education and Skills Funding Agency, Department for Work and Pensions and multiple local authority commissioned contracts.
Louise Huddleston
Trustee
Louise has always had a lifelong desire for caring and supporting the development of children and young people, in particular those with additional needs. Louise was a qualified SEND teacher for over 10 years, where she quickly became an advocate of the MOVE Programme which was being delivered in her school.
Her interest in the Programme led her to becoming a trainer, MOVE coordinator and supporting her school to maintain their Centre of Excellence status. Louise has since joined the board of trustees to provide an insight into the running of MOVE within school settings. She is currently training as a paediatric nurse and hopes to also promote the benefits of MOVE within the healthcare setting.
Robin Morris-Denholm
Trustee
Robin has four years’ experience as a SEN teacher and within that she has worked directly with the MOVE Programme. Robin is now an advisory teacher for Peterborough County Council, working with a variety of services and schools to support pupils in mainstream provision.
Wendy-Anne Wright
Trustee
Wendy is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and has a wealth of Finance experience gathered throughout her 27-year career in audit, commercial, financial services, and the third sector. Wendy brings a commercial perspective that has been built from the ground up, having worked at every level within finance and across different operational activities.
In previous roles, Wendy has been the CFO of an Insurance Brokerage and Finance Director for a Holiday Park group. She’s also worked in both National and local third sector organisations that offered a range of services to individuals, communities and other organisations.
Nicola Lowry
Trustee
A member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (MCIOF), Nic works at a leading Disability Charity as Director of Income Generation. She brings 15+ years’ experience of supporting charities and non-profits to deliver on their income generation ambitions, having led several highly successful strategies across a variety of fundraising areas.
Up until 2000, Nic worked in the retail sector. At this point, she made the decision to go to university to study social care, and to take up her first role in the health and social care sector as an area manager for a well-known domiciliary and nursing agency. She’s since worked in the charity sector across a range of areas including children and young people in care/leaving care, homelessness, complex needs, mental distress, and domestic violence and abuse.
